death of Abraham Lincoln. A squabble with Stanton along with
his Reconstruction policies led to an impeachment by Congress.
Rare partly-printed Document Signed as President, 1 page folio
parchment, Washington, November 28, 1865, an appointment of H.
Claussenius as Consul to Schwarzburg Rudolstadt at Chicago.
Co-signed by William H. Seward as Secretary of State.
Conservation framed in a gilt frame with a portrait
engraving of Johnson. Usual folds, light tear at upper portion of
engrossment, otherwise very good condition.
